The Data Fragment Manager gives you a powerful, flexible way to design custom data tables that drive your site's content — completely separated from layout and design. Define columns, manage records, and connect live data to any page component with no coding required.
The screenshot below shows the main Data Fragment Manager screen. Key areas are described in the feature guide below.
Everything you need to design, populate and publish structured content across your site.
Define your own data schema by adding columns with typed fields — strings, HTML, numbers, dates, images, options, and more. Each fragment table is fully tailored to your content model.
Add, edit and delete data rows through a clean form interface. HTML columns support a built-in rich text editor so non-technical editors can manage content confidently.
Fragment tables are bound to page components at publish time via WebCore component definitions. Changes to data instantly reflect on all connected pages without touching the layout.
IMAGE and FILE column types allow editors to upload and reference media directly from a row record. Asset paths are resolved automatically when the page is rendered.
OPTION column types let you define dropdown choices per field, enabling controlled vocabulary for statuses, categories, and types. Group rows visually using group column logic in your component template.
UNIQUEKEY columns auto-generate a stable identifier for each row — essential for building detail pages, URL slugs, and record lookups across your site's data layer.
Fragment tables can be exposed as structured OpenAPI endpoints, making your CMS data available to external apps, APIs, and integrations with a single configuration step.
Create as many fragment definitions as your site needs. Each definition is independently managed, versioned, and bindable to different page regions or component types.
Fragment editing is protected by the WebCore CMS permission system. Assign editors to specific tables without granting access to layout, templates, or other CMS areas.
Follow these four steps to go from a blank schema to live, data-driven content.
Open the Fragment Manager and create a new definition. Add columns for each piece of content — title, body, date, image, etc.
Add rows to your table using the editor interface. Rich text, media uploads, and option fields are all available inline.
Reference the fragment definition in a WebCore page component using the wc-defid and wc-table attributes to loop over your rows.
Publish the page. Your data renders automatically. Future edits to the fragment table are reflected site-wide with no republishing of layout needed.
Each column in a fragment definition is typed. The type controls the editor UI, storage format, and how data is rendered in component templates.
@df.col("field-name")
@Html.Raw(df.fCol("field").value)
<img src="@df.col("field")" />
